At e2 Cyber, we're partnering with a leading Defence organisation to find a Principal Cyber Security Advisor for a high-profile program based in Mawson Lakes.

This is an opportunity to join a complex engineering environment where you'll be responsible for driving security assurance, accreditation, and risk management activities across classified systems. Working closely with engineering, project, and customer stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring security is embedded throughout the entire system life cycle.

As a trusted security advisor, you'll provide practical guidance and leadership across security assurance activities while helping programs navigate complex security and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cyber security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security assurance activities.
  • Develop accreditation packages, security documentation, and assurance artefacts.
  • Provide advice on security controls, system architecture, and secure design principles.
  • Support accreditation and authorisation outcomes within classified environments.
  • Identify security risks and work with stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project, and customer teams to achieve security and compliance objectives.
  • Support security governance activities and compliance with Government security frameworks.
  • Contribute to the delivery of secure, resilient, and operationally effective systems.
About You
  • Experience within Cyber Security, System Security, Security Assurance, Accreditation, Governance, or Risk roles.
  • Strong understanding of security risk management and assurance frameworks.
  • Experience developing accreditation documentation and security artefacts.
  • Knowledge of Australian Government security requirements, including the ISM, PSPF, DSPF, and DISP.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working within Defence or other highly regulated environments.
Why Apply?
  • Work on a critical Defence capability program.
  • Join a collaborative team of security and engineering professionals.
  • Influence security outcomes across complex and highly classified systems.
  • Long-term contract opportunity with a competitive day rate.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence security outcomes and work on some of Australia's most complex technology programs, we'd love to hear from you.
