This role is ideal for someone who combines deep assurance expertise with exceptional technical writing capability.

About the Role You will lead the uplift of documentation across a complex cloud environment, working closely with technical SMEs to identify gaps, gather information, and refine artefacts to meet IRAP and ISM expectations. This includes moderating content for reusability, ensuring alignment with security frameworks, and supporting technical teams to articulate system design and configuration clearly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, uplift, and produce high quality technical and security documentation

  • Identify documentation gaps and work with SMEs to gather required information

  • Support preparation activities for an IRAP assessment

  • Moderate and structure content to ensure reusability and appropriate security handling

  • Provide guidance on technical remediation where required

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of artefacts

Required Experience
  • IRAP certification

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Federal Government ICT environments

  • Strong background producing documentation such as:

    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    • As Built / As Configured (ABAC) documents

    • High Level and Detailed Design documents

    • Security documentation (SSPs, SSP Annexes, etc.)

  • Experience working with infrastructure and application teams

  • Exposure to:

    • Microsoft technologies

    • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

    • DevOps practices

    • Application development or Infrastructure as Code

Skills & Attributes
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, structured documentation

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to research, learn quickly, and work effectively with SMEs and external vendors

  • High attention to detail and strong assurance mindset

Why This Role Matters You will play a critical part in shaping how a major government cloud platform presents itself for IRAP assessment—strengthening its documentation, clarifying its security posture, and enabling a smooth assurance process.

If you’re an IRAP Assessor who enjoys combining technical depth with documentation excellence, this opportunity offers meaningful impact within a high value environment.
