Security Engineer (Tenable) – 12?Month Contract | Defence

If you’re a Security Engineer with deep Tenable expertise and the clearance to operate in highly sensitive environments, this role puts you right at the centre of a major Defence cyber uplift.
We’re supporting a large scale Defence program focused on strengthening vulnerability management, continuous monitoring, and secure systems assurance. You’ll join a tight, high performing team delivering capability that genuinely matters.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for operating and optimising Tenable.sc / Nessus across complex, multi domain Defence networks. Your work will directly influence the organisation’s ability to detect, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities in line with Defence security standards.
This is a hands on, delivery driven role for someone who thrives in secure, structured, mission critical environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Running and tuning Tenable platforms across secure networks
• Conducting vulnerability scans, analysis, and prioritisation
• Translating findings into actionable remediation tasks
• Working with system owners and engineers to validate and resolve vulnerabilities
• Supporting compliance with Defence frameworks and internal security policies
• Producing clear, concise reporting for technical and executive stakeholders
What You Bring
• Strong experience with Tenable.sc / Nessus in enterprise or government environments
• Solid understanding of vulnerability management, CVEs, and remediation workflows
• Experience working within Defence or other high assurance environments
• Ability to communicate risk clearly and influence remediation outcomes
• Familiarity with secure networks, change control, and structured processes
• Active NV2 clearance (mandatory)
