About the Role
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments. The position blends architecture, hands on engineering, and project delivery, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect network solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Plan and implement network infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
- Configure and optimise core protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Monitor network performance and availability using industry standard tools.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and bandwidth issues.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access controls.
- Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, including firmware updates, patching, and hardware refreshes.
- Lead and deliver network focused projects to agreed timelines.
- Provide technical support and escalation assistance for network incidents.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Meet service level commitments as defined in SLAs.
- 7+ years of IT experience with deep expertise in complex network environments.
- Proven experience designing scalable, resilient network architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Office 365, Azure AD, and SharePoint.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms: VMware, AHV, Hyper V, KVM.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, and NSE4.
- Advanced understanding of routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP.
- Strong grounding in network security principles and technologies.
- Experience with major firewall platforms: FortiGate, Sophos, WatchGuard, Meraki.
- Broad exposure to enterprise networking hardware and technologies.
