e2Cyber is exclusively partnering with ASC, Australia’s sovereign submarine builder and maintainer, to recruit a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead advanced security capabilities across incident response, DFIR and threat hunting. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex, high-impact cyber challenges within a secure Defence environment.
This role is suited to a hands-on technical specialist who enjoys leading investigations, improving detection capability and driving uplift across cyber engineering and response functions.

Location: Osborne, South Australia
Clearance: Must be eligible for NV2

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong people leadership and stakeholder management capability
  • Hands-on background across SIEM, EDR and incident response
  • Experience working within Microsoft environments (Defender, Sentinel, Azure preferred)
  • Strong understanding of ISM, Essential Eight and secure environments
  • Experience with incident response and DFIR investigations
  • Drive and mature threat hunting capability across the environment
  • Develop and improve detection engineering and response processes
  • Identify capability gaps and uplift tooling, automation and workflows
  • Act as a technical SME supporting the broader cyber team
  • Contribute to security engineering and architecture decisions
  • Support continuous improvement across cyber capabilities and processes
  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for NV2 clearance
About You
  • Strong experience as a Senior Security Engineer, DFIR specialist or Threat Hunter
  • Hands-on expertise in incident response, investigations and threat analysis
  • Experience building or improving detection and response capabilities
  • Exposure to penetration testing or offensive security methodologies
  • Strong understanding of secure environments and cyber frameworks
  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for NV2 clearance
