Work for a leading organisation within Financial Services as a System Security Engineer as part of a collaborative, tight knit team, working with both the Network and Security teams on exciting projects across both areas, focusing on Network Security uplift, and cloud security.
 
Responsibilities
  • Utilise expertise and technology in collaboration with service delivery
  • Testing, Platform Support, Incident Management and Maintenance for on-premise and cloud-based platforms.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists contributing to solution design, whilst communicating with customers and stakeholders
  • Implement Agile practices for continuous improvement and resilience in platform development.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and adhere to Change Management processes.
  • Research and knowledge around technology trends and propose improvements.
  • Contribute to technology strategies, represent the platform, and communicate with vendors for the client.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise the Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Create technology roadmaps, align work, and provide input into planning sessions.
 
Technical skills:
  • Palo Alto (Certifications desirable)
  • f5 Load Balancing
  • App Firewalls
  • Proxy Services
  • VPN
  • Host-Based Security.
  • AWS or Azure cloud experience
  • OSI layer knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Understanding on enterprise level security platforms/Secure development practices
  • Change controls/performance monitoring
  • Solid understanding of change control, security, performance monitoring, and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
