A major Federal Government agency is seeking a Cyber Vulnerability Specialist to strengthen its capability to identify, assess, and prioritise cyber security vulnerabilities across a complex, globally distributed ICT environment.
This role sits within a high-assurance cyber function responsible for protecting critical operations, secure communications, and mission-essential systems from sophisticated cyber threats. You’ll be delivering contextualised, risk-based vulnerability assessments that directly support operational and strategic decision-making.
Why this role matters: You’ll be working in one of the most sensitive and diverse ICT environments in government. Your expertise will help safeguard national interests by ensuring vulnerabilities are understood, prioritised, and remediated in line with real-world operational impact, not just textbook severity.
This is a senior practitioner role requiring judgement, influence, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable risk advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse, and prioritise vulnerabilities across systems, applications, cloud environments, and secure development pipelines.
- Deliver contextualised, agency specific vulnerability assessments aligned to mission impact and threat actor behaviour.
- Work closely with cyber operations, infrastructure, application delivery teams, and external partners to reduce cyber risk.
- Provide clear remediation guidance and support uplift of secure-by-design practices.
- Influence secure development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and AppSec practices.
- Communicate complex technical risk to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and authority.
