A major federal organisation is modernising its technology foundations, uplifting cyber capability, and delivering large-scale transformation programs. We are seeking a Lead Cyber Security Architect (EL2 equivalent) to design secure-by-design environments across critical national systems.
This role is suited to a senior architect who can operate in complex environments, collaborate across diverse stakeholders, and contribute directly to national security outcomes.
The Work You will design and assure enterprise-grade security architectures across cloud, hybrid, network and monitoring domains. The role sits within a technology division responsible for enabling frontline operations, modern platforms, and emerging technology adoption.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing optimal security solutions for large transformation programs
- Producing security architecture documentation and guiding approvals through governance forums
- Providing expert cyber technical advice across business units
- Building strong relationships across teams and partner organisations
- Anticipating, communicating and resolving security issues across systems and services
- Mentoring and coaching less experienced staff
- Maintaining currency in modern security practices and contributing to improved ICT processes
- Enterprise security architecture and secure-by-design
- Network security architecture
- Cloud and hybrid security architecture
- Security monitoring and observability
- Security assurance, risk and compliance
- Canberra-based (onsite primary location)
- Flexible arrangements may be considered at the organisation’s discretion
- 36 month initial term
- Maximum hours: 7.5 per day
