Cybersecurity Consultant
Job Summary:
Our client is growing their security consulting team and is looking for Cybersecurity Consultants who enjoy solving real problems, learning fast, and working closely with customers.
You’ll help a range of organisations understand and manage the security risks they face day to day. Manage incident response, build out threat detection capability, tighten governance and assurance, and help with the design and accreditation of complex systems.
Work in small teams or alongside more senior consultants on engagements that range from short, focused assurance pieces through to longer deployments embedded in a client’s team. The focus is practical impact and helping clients become more self‑sufficient over time.
This role is ideal if you’ve built a solid foundation in cyber (SOC, IR, engineering or similar) and want to broaden into consulting, or if you’re a mid–senior consultant looking for more variety and ownership.

What will you be doing:
- Supporting investigation and response to security incidents, and helping clients learn from them.
- Building and tuning detection content across SIEM, SOAR and EDR platforms with support from senior team members.
- Contributing to threat intelligence and reporting so stakeholders understand what really matters.
- Assisting with systems design and accreditation activities alongside architects and engineers.
- Supporting governance, risk and assurance work aligned to relevant frameworks.
- Translating technical detail into clear, useful advice for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Skills and experience required to succeed in this role:
- Practical experience in: SOC, incident response, detection, threat hunting or similar.
- Good written and verbal communication, with the confidence to work directly with stakeholders.
- Hands on experience with some combination of SIEM, SOAR, EDR and cloud security tools.
- Cloud or systems engineering experience (design, implementation, integration).
- Experience with Google SecOps and other Google Cloud security offerings
- Work onsite in Canberra, ACT.
- NV1 Clearance or above.
